When we arrived at Fairford saturday morning around 6:30lt all nine MB.339s of Al Fursan were parked at the flightline.
During the morning (probably around nine o'clock) one MB.339 was pulled to the north side of the airfield.

On mondaymorning we left fairford and noted the Brazilian tanker at Brize Norton. Parked next to it were 7 RAF Hawks.
Some English spotters told us these were part of the EIIR flypast.
Can't read them all off from camera but what we can see is:

the E in the formation was made up by 10 4(R)sq Hawk T2 all the others where T1A/T1W Hawks.

Hi Stanak, I think your reply just hit the language barrier... :lol:

What Polleke meant was: where can I find the serial on the actual plane, not where the team is based... and I would like to know too, so that I know where to look for the serials the next time I see the team! Could anyone shed some light on that? Does anyone happen to have a close-up of any one of the serials -for reference only?

Serials and c/n's are NOT external on the aircraft.

430 6767 (ex MM54546)
431 6735
432 6736
434 6738
435 6774
437 6836
438 6764 (ex MM54543)
439 6766 (ex MM54545)
440 6714 (ex ??? see note)

C/n's checked by Andy.

If you check the pictures of these MB.339's. You can clearly see there are two different versions.
One with a pitot on top of the tail and ones without these pitot. The one without are ex Italian

430, 438, 439 and 440 are ex Italian.

100% photoproof MM54508 is also delivered to Al Fursan. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/photo/ ... i-mb-339a/
But I personally checked the c/n of MM54508 /61-56 at the static of Mildenhall Air Show in 1997 and is 100% sure 6722 !!!

It is reported that only 4 Italian MB.339's were delivered to the team , so we have a "problem"......

But there is another problem. I twice cheched the c/n of MB.339 MM54514 as 6735. The first time on 24dec95 at Villafranca and the second time on 14jun98 at Vaerlose Airshow.

Help !!!!

The serial is not on the outside, only on the c/n plate and the radio call plate.
