Well... in short, I'm still not convinced they will open an airbase to the general public ;-)
Up till now I only have seen confirmations there will be a flypast!

A quote from http://www.function.mil.ru/news_page/co ... 627@egNews (using Google translate)
Passage level of Yak-130 (the leading group of pilot 1st Lieutenant Dennis Kahanovsky class) and a single flying the Su-30MK fighters in the skies over Ramenskoye airfield, visitors will see the festivities, which will be held in Zhukovsky near Moscow during the air show August 11 and 12, devoted to 100 anniversary of the Air Forces of Russia.

[edit 1] And from http://www.function.mil.ru/news_page/co ... 456@egNews
11 and August 12 in Zhukovsky Aviation Festival will be held with the heads of federal and regional state authorities, enterprises of the military-industrial complex and non-governmental organizations in Russia, the commanders of air forces of foreign states.
It doesn't say the general public will me admitted... :-(

[edit 2] this last link seems to sum up rather completely all activities in the Moscow region, but none of the mentioned events does include the general public. Guess all the people going to Moscow need to find themselves a spot outside Zhukovsky :-(

Surfing on http://www.100letvvs.ru I came across the following sentence and I'm wondering what it means: "August 12 - Aviation festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Air Force (the entrance for visitors is free, by invitation only)."

By invitation only?

Antheii,

Many thanks for the POI file, an incredible amount of work done there, excellent.

We had planned to attend the show on the Saturday, looks like it may have to be outside now?? Strange celebrations!

The area to the East looks good on Google? does anybody have experiance on the area outside and/or locations to view the flypast?

Many thanks,

Tim.

Some additions on the flypast:
The a/c of the "100" formation did practice at Astrakhan and not at Akthubisk. The flankers are from Krymsk,MiG-29s from Kursk, Su-25 unknown at this moment.

There are no Yak-130 at Thikoretsk, so most likely these will be from Lipetsk or Borisoglebsk.

The Ka-52from Chernigovka is possible but unlikely, I assume this is a Thorzhokhelicopter.

The Tu-22M are based and will fly from Shaykovka.

The Su-24s are based at Voronezh.

Hi guys !

It sadly seems that saturday is just dedicated to official delegations and sunday on invitation only (for TV, press, medias etc...). :x

Hence, I plan to go to St petersburg where an airshow 'll take place on 11th: Military static display, civilian flight display, 15mn baloons rides, large stand of computer games...

Anyone got detailed list of military aircraft involved ? any idea about the hours of opening and closing of Pushkin airfield that day ?

Hi cis,

Thanks for the updates, I've changed them in my overview.

The Israeli's are rumoured to have cancelled their participation.

Hi all,

After surfing the net, I still didn't find an answer to the question that I posted above, but judging from the different topics on sites like UKAR http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic. ... 6&start=75, it seems that both Saturday and Sunday are not open to the general public. Saturday is for officials and delegations, and Sunday is only open to former and currently serving Russian Air Force personnel. That would explain why it says "the entrance for visitors is free, by invitation only."

Is there anyone that confirm this?

Regards,

Jan

Hi Jan,

Your's is the most plausible conclusion. VIP day seems off-limits no matter what I guess.

A new timetable was published at http://www.100letvvs.ru/?r=airshow&s=002. I've changed my post above to reflect this timetable. Changes/additions are in red - except for changes in times.
