stored C-160s at Orleans

Post by erik_kamphuis »

Orleans-Bricy 22 june 2012:
All read in good evening light and no heatwaves!

Dispersal NW-side 9x C-160 stored (mostly only tails visible):
R1 C-160R stored, grey
R2 C-160R stored, grey
R12 C-160R stored, grey
R43 C-160R stored, grey
R48 C-160R stored, grey
R92 C-160R stored, grey
R98 C-160R stored, grey
1x C-160 stored, like crashed in grass, most right
1x C-160 stored, green camo

R2 is 100% for sure, this is not R3. R3 should also be wfu, but not seen by us.
Can de camo C-160 be the F49/59-MU last noted wfu oct’11? Can anyone help on this one? :?:

Dispersal NE-side 1x C-160 stored on a taxitrack:

1x C-160R stored, grey (no nosecone and tail missing some panels) (is this RA02 ?)

Ramp SE-side (near Noratlas):
R18 C-160R ET61, grey
2x C-160 ET61, grey

Ramp S-side:
2x C-130 ET61, grey

Ramp SW-side:
5116 C-130H ET61, grey
5144 C-130H-30 ET61, grey
/61-MN C-160R ET61, grey (should be R42)
/61-ZQ C-160R ET61, grey (should be R99)

The preserved Noratlas was not visible from outside.

Today, prior to getting a flat tyre I visited Orléans. (Warning: heathaze alert...)
In the NW corner I read:
R48
R12
R43
R2
F49
R38/61-ZF (this could be R88/61-ZF, which should be stored at Evreux?)
plus two unID'd C-160s.

In the NE corner I read:
R5 (this one ought to be at Toulouse?!)
plus one unID'd C-160.

Again, there might be errors in play here as the heathaze was not playing ball, this is also straight from the notebook.

Hi,

thanks for the info!
We already knew the camo C-160 is F49/59-MU.
We did read one code also from the stored C-160s in NW: 61-ZP, that belongs to R98 we also read.
Maybe this is you "61-ZF" code? R88 can't be good as that one was seen last june at Evreux WFU with missing some panels!

The C-160 in the NE-corner, was that stored on the taxitrack, missing it's nosecone and some panels at the tail? Tail to NE direction, could also be seen from crashgate spot 2. If you read R5, it can't be RA02. Maybe R3 also stored here somewhere?

Hi Erik,

I think your R98 is the one I ID'd as R88...
In the NE corner are two Transalls, one facing out, one facing in. I read(tried to read...) the one facing outwards, the other onewas unreadable from the spot my tyre had burst...
