I assume that the VMF A-314 birds will follow-up the AV-8Bs that were destroyed last week!

It looks like VMFA-314 deployed to Al Jaber as part of a theater security package: http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/oct ... t-mideast/

Meanwhile, the six VMA-211 AV-8Bs that were destroyed were replaced by jets from VMA-231 (the squadron that was to replace -211), while the two that were damaged were said to be repairable (in situ?). Two aircraft (I assume the ones not damaged in the attack) returned to Yuma on November 3; these are shown in photos as being 'CF-11' and 'CF-12'.

EDIT: 10.40 GMT, followed by BLUE11, confirmed as total of 5 a/c, including 1 DC10.
10.50 GMT other 4 a/c confirmed as F15's.
