News is coming in that IB has announced complete withdrawal of all services on MAD-AMS, MAD-TXL & MAD-ARN starting 10 January 2013 in order to pressure unions in Spain to accept IBexpress.
As yet the reservation systems show double flight listings on AMS-MAD for Jan. 2013. In case IB leaves AMS completely we can expect other airlines to fill the void:
Current IB schedule for Jan 2013 showing mixed flight numbers and times:
- dep. 07:35 AMS 10:25 MAD IB 2617 Non-Stop
- dep. 07:50 AMS 10:25 MAD IB 3703 Non-Stop
- dep. 12:10 AMS 15:00 MAD IB 2613 Non-Stop
- dep. 12:30 AMS 15:05 MAD IB 3723 Non-Stop
- dep. 19:10 AMS 22:00 MAD IB 2621 Non-Stop
- dep. 19:20 AMS 21:55 MAD IB 3725 Non-Stop
In preparation for the route closure on 10 January 2013 IB will reduce frequencies on MAD-AMS-MAD starting 30 November.
