Spottersday and Open day Wittmund 2013 - chit chat & opinions
Sounds like it'll be an event not to be missed. As much as I'm looking forward to it, it'll be sad to see them go!

Hi,
it seems next year there will three phantoms in retro schemes and one special colored .
I hope one of these retro schemes will be like this one (click on link). Also with those big numbers .

That is the 'Norm72' scheme. If I have it all correct, there are basically 4 schemes the Phantoms wore (not including RF-4E):
Norm72
Norm72/81 interim
Norm81 (with varieties)
Norm90
Given that the commander speaks about three special camouflage colours and that all Phantoms at this moment are in Norm90, I would assume one of the specials will be in Norm72 (albeit maybe not with the bright flashes).

Yes, Norm 72, 81 and 90 is already phyling in Wittmund since two weeks ( 37+22 ). And the "phirst one will be the last one" 37+01 in special c/s:-)

I have a question for zapata742: you say the 37+22 is already flying with a retro scheme. Do you which one? Is it the norm72 with those big numbers?

As mentioned 37+22 got a Norm 90, which is the actual c/s...no retro! Yes, Norm 72 is the best one for me, phinally large numbers and wingbadge:-)

Agree with this! It is very early, I know, but I am looking to do this in a day trip from the UK (mad, I know!) - as it's three hours drive from AMS, does anyone know what time the event will start and finish?ZeroOtto wrote: Thank you, never been so happy to go to a funeral ..........

There is untill now no information about the time they will start and when the end is of this both days.
But i think that the Airbase will be open at 09:00-10:00 and i think that they will stop between 17:00-18:00.
I hope that this information will be here on Scramble in the follow months.
I recommend that you use the information here to keep an eye for the next months.
Maybe will the German Luftwaffe post this information about this two days on their site (http://www.luftwaffe.de).

Does someone know how to register for the spottersday. The site www.phantom-pharewell.de has been changed.
