They will be transported to Coleman within the next weeks. I will try to keep you all updated.
I guess the following facility:

Rhenania Intermodal Transport
Antwerpener Str. 24
68219 Mannheim

Rhine Ro-Ro Service is part of this company.
Assume makes an ASS of U and ME.

No.... :please!: Thats real sour!!

We were just at the ferry port at Altrip when the vessel past us going around the bend....thinking it was not going to stop anytime soon. If it did, we we're less then a mile away of possibly scoring the other 8 Apaches as well.

The place seems quite open and viewable from the Antwerpener strasse. Did anyone check it out already?

Hi all  !
I can confirm that 16 AH-64D Apache's are parked at the adress mentioned before. Unfortunately they are parked very close to each other, which makes a good confirmation somehow tricky. The most Apaches we could read of are those who has been parked on deck of the vessel. The 8 from the lower deck remains a mistery, eventually one is 09-05589.
Greetings Thomas :)):

The 16 AH-64D's at Mannheim-Rheinau, Hafen 2, were read off by me this weekend:

02-05304, 05322, 05326,
03-05352, 05353, 05371, 05381, 05384,
04-05421, 05433, 05439, 05445, 05467,
05-07001, 07010,
09-05589

03-05371 has the Air Cav (1CAV) badge,
09-05589 has a rectangle, diagonal divided, top black, bottom white
433, 439, 467 and 010 are in white outlined

It is quite impossible to say, but my guess is that they will Transport the Apache's to ETOR asap. But just a guess...

They will transport them to Coleman Barracks, no doubt about that, and they can do that in 3 ways: by boat, by trailer, by pulling behind a truck like they do when they offload them at Lampertheim.

Pulling by truck is hardly an option, wrong side of the river Rhine and to far, about 30 km.
By flatbedtrailer is difficult, hazardous and a lot of obstacles as they have to go under bridges and thru towns. It would need 16 trailer transports to get them all to Coleman.
My educated guess is that the Dynamica, now underway on it's schedueled route from Antwerp to Woerth, will pick them up and bring them to Lampertheim, IF the waterlevel of the river Rhine will make it possible to offload them there. OR they will use another Ro-Ro ship to do that job.

But, who knows, they might do it completely differently.

To answer the question where it was all about: Yes, I think they will still be at Mannheim-Rheinau this tuesday.
Be aware: they are almost not visible from the main gate at the Antwerpenerstrasse, as they are on the far end. Go between the fence and the neighbours house in the direction of the harbour. Also the other side of the river Rhine will give a good view if the footpath allong the river is accessible.

Good luck and go get them!

As we start to read off the choppers, we had a visit from a PFC. He asked us what we are doing, and that we are on Governments Ground. We told him that is not true. So, Security is around ;-)

Thanks for the great advise Perry, just to make sure we end up at the right location: do you happen to have Google Earth Coordinates for the best location?

Many thanks in advance!!

Top deck empty for loading some 16 Apaches at Mannheim to transport them to Lampertheim, if waterlevel permits.

No Google Earth accessible at the moment, but with those directions I gave it hardly can go wrong :fadein:
