...and when it's full - it is full! Don't worry, there are wonderful conditions from outside the airfield to take pictures....

It's true, there are good spots from the outside, but remember about that the spotterday starts at 13.00lt, and all "participants" are already on ground at that time. So you'll possibly get only the 4-ship formation Phantom, if they will rehearsal on friday afternoon.
Otherwise you won't get anything from the outside, then!

Just an email. For the shuttlebus they will ask a small fee as stated on the website.

You're lucky, Rene, as the information sheet on the website of the Luftwaffe states "Stay only on the public and opened areas, because there will be flying operation during your visit."

Apart from that, it also states "Be advised that the aircraft at display are in place for the "Tag der offenen Tür" on the next day and therefore cannot be moved for a better shot! Some fences may be in place due to safety regulations and will also have to stay in place."

"Greece will be back in 2013

The public affairs officer from the Greece Air Force said today that they will return at three different airshows this year. Radom will see the return of the Zeus F16 demoteam, Wittmund will get a F4 Phantom on static and the Airtattoo at Fairford will get an EMB145 AEW&C on static".

The actual airshow will be on Saturday 26th of June..., according to a WTD61 crewmember it is very likely that this will also the Luftwaffe's last show ever (for the foreseeable future at least)...
