In my archive (scrapheap of slides) I stumbled onto a landing picture on Schiphol of an A320 in Iberia colours with the registration EC-881. Can someone enlighten me on the out of sequence registration of this airframe.
Some search on the net found Iberia Airbus A320-211 - cn 266 named Torcal de Antequera (which confirms with the picture)
EC-881 early 1992, EHAM Schiphol

What do you mean exactly? Aircraft is now EC-FLP with Iberia Express.

Temporary register, curious system used during near ten years.
An EC- and three numbers register was asigned to each aircraft before to get the definitive registration.
This interim registration was valid for a maximun of three months.

The system is still being used actually, on this A330MRTT for example.
