Wittmund 25-06-2013 WTD-61 and Last JG-71 Phantom Flights
Yep, today was the last flying day for JG-71 "Richthofen" Phantoms, despite the Fly Out Ceremony itself! Therefore we were heading north, to see their rehearsal for the "Big Party" on Saturday. I've to be honest: the best I've ever seen demonstrated by a Phantom!!
I'm going to upload some pictures of a sad but great day at Wittmund, unforntunately with worst weather conditions than forecasted. First I will start with the "Star Item" on it's ferry flight from Jever to Ingolstadt; via Wittmund and Leeuwarden.

So we go ahead with the Scooter Pair, which did 2 missions, today. It was also the first time ever, I saw a Scooter doing a Low Approach and Touch and Go and Wittmund (sorry no pic due to the heavy rain shower approaching in )

Please tell me there's Phantoms left in operational colors, cause this is turning into a circus...

Tigerspoon: you mention the WTD-61 was on a ferry flight to Ingolstadt, does tht mean it won't be present during the weekend at Wittmund?

pfff ....first of all, half the specials are (old) operational colors, and furthermore, you have seen operational 'normal' German spooks for many decades so please don't go ''essigpinkeln'' about the LW -imho rightfully- building a great goodbye party.....Stephan Lodewijks wrote:Please tell me there's Phantoms left in operational colors, cause this is turning into a circus...

38+10 and 38+33 ARE operational colours. Just stay in the Netherlands and watch orange and grey F-16s if you are not pleased with the work of "our" Air Force here.Stephan Lodewijks wrote:Please tell me there's Phantoms left in operational colors, cause this is turning into a circus...
