Swiss holiday, August 15?

Post by Trabanti »

Dear fellow spotters in Switzerland. I understand Aug 15 is a semi-official holiday in CH? At least, depending on the Kanton.

Can someone give an expectation if that day an airbase such as Payerne will not be active, and if so, will the following Friday also be taken as a holiday?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Trabanti,

Take a look at the SIS Summary page: http://www.scramblemagazine.nl/sis-summary

No jet flying activity at Meiringen and Payerne until 30 August due to the tourist season.

For educational purposes.....

15AUG is "Maria Himmelfahrt", which liberally translated into English means "Maria Take-off" :silly:

And for all those in France next week (like me): I received confirmation from BA116 that only Monday through Wednesday will see flight operations next week..

So.. see you at Ramstein? ;-)

Emmen would be open on Friday 16. There are 4 waves with 6-10 hornets and tigers but maybe a little reduced activities on late afternoon.
