Hammarö and Rockville,

In regards to Chinese warships in the Mediterranean they were never there. The reports first appeared in the conspiracy based media and snowballed from there. No Chinese Navy vessels passed north through the Suez into the Mediterranean.

Simply because Chinese Navy vessel Jinggangshan was seen in the Red Sea it was assumed that it was going to pass through the Suez Canal. The Chinese vessels are part of the international anti-piracy patrols. They escort convoys transiting the Red Sea/Gulf of Aden and Horn of Africa and have been doing so since 2008.

See image of Jinggangshan on September 11th exercising in the Gulf of Aden.

Chinese special troop soldiers of the 15th convoy fleet walk to a helicopter during a shooting training on the Jinggangshan vessel in the Gulf of Aden, on Sept. 11, 2013.

The supply and replenishment vessel assigned to the anti-piracy task force was recently in port in Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea.

The Chinese Navy vessels assigned to the 15th anti piracy task force remained in the Gulf of Aden/Red Sea region and exercised with the US Navy.

Yes the sources were completely wrong and the conspiracy theory websites ran with it. None of the 15th anti-piracy task force went north through the Suez. Neither did any of the off going task force (14th anti-piracy task force) hang around in the region and returned home making good will visits to Asian ports.

If Chinese Naval vessels had transited the Suez it would have been all over Egyptian and Israeli media. I mean proper Israeli media and not the conspiracy driven make it up as you go along Debka. The following made me laugh. "deployed in secret"
Western naval sources reported Friday that a Chinese landing craft, the Jinggangshan, with a 1,000-strong marine battalion had reached the Red Sea en route for the Mediterranean off Syria. According to DEBKAfile, Beijing has already deployed a number of warships opposite Syria in secret. If the latest report is confirmed, this will be the largest Chinese deployment in the Middle East in its naval history.

Try to incert positive information. If we shall get a better picture of the area we have to work together.

Russia use Maskirovka.

Russia tries to get a stronger position through Maskirovka, and put in different elements of information.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maskirovka

Try to follow the Russian ships positions!! Amphibious ships in eastern med and Baltic. Russia play war in Baltic with Byelorussia. The same time in Black Sea!

Although is the US ships positions stronger.

If you read the latest news is it hot in the whole area. Syria + Somalia + Libya etc.

US ships with SEALS , Delta etc. and more of different kind of forces.

Used of ships and helicopters.

Here is some information about the rumours of the Chinese ships through Suez channel for Syrian defence. According the source was it Maskirovka information to decline China (the source explaining).

http://www.best-news.us/news-5461395-Ch ... eally.html

The Jinggangshan arrived in Aden Gulf about 28 August and remains there now.

It must have happened something special in area. Even the US have several ships in Gulf of Aden.

In the last have the following happened:

Mali operation.
The same time French helicopter action from Mistral in Somalia.
US actions against Somalia.
US actions in Yemen from UAV base in Saudi Arabia.
Kenya-Nairobi shootings.
US Navy Seal or Delta operation last week.
Libyan hostage taken of US Forces.
All of these respons of actions out of our knowledge (yet).

The planes involved are helicopters from naval ships and Djibouti. The P-3 parting search and rescue of last week helicopter accident in Red Sea must have come from Djibouti.

Were is also information of Iranian ships mooring outside Sudan.

The USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Monterey (CG 61), conducted a northbound transit of the Suez Canal, 20 Oct 2013.

USS Nimtz was recently since beginning of September operating in the Red Sea to provide the US options for responding to crisis situations.

USS Nimitz Nimitz will operate in the Med Sea and train with partners before returning to her home port of Everett, Wa.

Nimitz entered the US 5th Fleet of operations 9 June 2013.

I search information of DDG escorts.

This thread "syrian operations" is in reality US Navy connected operations in area and involve whole 5th Fleet and 6th Fleet.

USS Bainbridge for example in Seychelles are connected with destroyers in the Med, and are ready to respond to threads in Med.

I have deleted air operations mentioned in over threads, but they are involve this thread.

For example delta and seals operate strategically in area from helicopters from different US ships as responding on different kinds of operations.
