Former Dutch Dakota Association DC4 to fly again

The former Dutch Dakota Association DC4 which is currently parked at Rand Airport near Johannesburg, South Africa is expected to fly again.
It is being re-fitted with two zero timed engines according to a message at avcom.co.za

It even might return to the Netherlands.

The aircraft is now registered ZS-AUA

Eind 2013 heeft een drietal Nederlandse investeerders de DC-4 over genomen voor de vraag prijs. In 2014/ 2015 zullen de investeerders een haalbaarheidsonderzoek starten naar de mogelijkheden van restauratie van de DC-4 die momenteel nog in Zuid Afrika staat. Hierbij blijft het toestel in Nederlandse handen en is een stuk je Nederlands historische luchtvaart veilig gesteld.

We can hope, but I wouldn't be surprised if the airfields still don't want it to come to their fields, due to the music that cultural barbarians describe as noise.

I spoke to someone involved some time ago and he even didn’t know what to expect...only that it needs money money and money....
