Wonder when they will start to fly in his stuff.... Any info on that?

I guess anyone who knows this will not post it, so we will have to wait and see.

However POTUS visits during the last years to Europe (G8/ Olympics etc) usually showed arrival of:
- 2 C17's bringing in 2 VH60N around 4 to 6 days before the AF1.
- 1 or 2 C17's 2 to 3 days before AF1 bringing vehicle's and security.
- around 3 to 4 UH60,s or CH47's from the USArmy in Germany, 2 tot 3 days before AF1.
- one C20 /C37 around 2 days before the AF1.
- For the AF1 and AF2 my guess is an arrival on Sunday evening in the dark.
- E4B is roughly airborne at the same times as AF1, but this will land elsewhere i think.
This is standard routine, so nothing secret about it, however history also showed events where only AF1 and a C32 showed up, so nothing is for sure.

For the rest history shows (WEF/ Nato/EU/ G8) that most likely the European participants arrive short before the meeting, so Monday morning. Most of the leaders from outside Europe on Saturday and Sunday.

Valkenburg wordt een echt heli veld. Er worden 17 helikopters tijdens de NSS gestationeerd.

Van 17 tot en met 28 maart wordt voormalig vliegkamp Valkenburg actief gebruikt als militair terrein.
400 personeelsleden van Defensie en politie worden er gehuisvest.
17 helikopters van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht en Politie worden er gestationeerd.
Van 18 maart t/m 26 maart wordt een batterij luchtdoelrakeen opgesteld.
Op 21 maart worden bewapende Apachehelikopters ingevlogen, deze vertrekken weer op 26 maart.

De Chinese president Xi Jinping brengt een staatsbezoek aan Nederland. Hij komt op 22 maart aan. Ongetwijfeld op Schiphol.
Het bezoek duurt tot 23 maart. Xi Jinping blijft nog even in Nederland vanwege de NSS. Er komt ook een grote handelsdelegatie mee.

Vandaag in de media veel aandacht voor de sluiting van de Polderbaan vanwege voorbereidingen van de NSS.
Bijvoorbeeld in het NOS journaal van 22:00. Daarin wordt verteld dat de verlichting aan beide kanten van de baan wordt verwijderd omdat deze in de weg staat bij parkeren van de toestellen. Deze worden schuin opgesteld.
Er komt naast de brandweer post een centrale voor de overheid. Bij de de-icing komen voorzieningen voor uitstappen en instappen van de wereldleiders.
Daar komt ook een tent voor ambassadeurs die wachten op hun wereldleider.
Er worden diverse wegen aangelegd voor vervoer van de leiders.

Er wordt als het ware een vliegveld binnen een vliegveld gebouwd. Eerder was al bekend gemaakt dat de afhandeling van de koffers gebeurd op het voormalige Floriade terrein vlakbij de Polderbaan.

En de volgende maatregel vanwege security:

Vliegverkeer InZicht tijdelijk niet beschikbaar wegens nucleaire top NSS
In verband met de Nuclear Security Summit 2014, heeft de Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding en Veiligheid (NCTV) besloten dat er tijdelijk geen informatie mag worden verstrekt over het vliegverkeer rond Schiphol.

Om die reden is Vliegverkeer InZicht niet beschikbaar van zaterdag 22 maart 2014 vanaf 6.00 uur, tot en met woensdag 26 maart 2014 tot 12.00 uur (lokale tijd). Ook achteraf zal het vliegverkeer dat in deze periode heeft plaatsgevonden niet bekeken kunnen worden. Vliegverkeer InZicht toont al het vliegverkeer van en naar Schiphol in een straal van circa 150 km rond de luchthaven. De vliegtuigbewegingen zijn gebaseerd op radar- en vliegplangegevens die normaliter live door Luchtverkeersleiding Nederland worden geleverd.

With so much security around and so many roads and bike lanes closed are people going to still try and photograph incoming traffic for this event ? Is there much point in turning up ?
I can see people being moved on from any area that is close enough to take pictures.

You may perhaps want to try something with a telescope if you are a "reggie/serial spotter",
but photography will be rather difficult indeed.

Yes, that is Praethuys.

There is no "general feeling" really.
What I can gather from various sources is that most "artistic photographers" will give the NSS a miss,
while others who are happy with "just plain pictures" may still want to try and somehow get photographs.
This will probably not be all that easy though.

De Nuclear Security Summit zorgt voor de grootste veiligheidsoperatie in de Nederlandse geschiedenis. Defensie en de Nationale Politie beveiligen de topconferentie waar 58 wereldleiders, zo’n 5.000 delegatieleden en 3.000 journalisten aan deelnemen.

Omwonenden van Rotterdam The Hague Airport moeten de komende twee weken rekening houden met extra vlieglawaai. Dat heeft alles te maken met de internationale conferentie over nucleaire veiligheid die op 24 en 25 maart in Den Haag wordt gehouden.

Vanaf deze vrijdag vliegen op de luchthaven grotere vliegtuigen en helikopters dan normaal. Omdat die toestellen zwaarder zijn, kan het lijken alsof ze lager vliegen dan anders. Om wat voor vliegtuigen en helikopters het gaat mag Rotterdam The Hague Airport niet zeggen in verband met de veiligheid.

Over wijken
De overlast voor de omgeving is het grootst tijdens de top zelf. Op die twee dagen mogen de gebruikelijke vliegroutes niet worden gevolgd, waardoor meer vliegtuigen over woonwijken zullen vliegen in plaats van eromheen. Dat geldt met name voor Schiedam.

Rotterdam The Hague Airport zal door een beperkt aantal regeringsleiders worden gebruikt.

Maar ook hier geldt dat we speciale en passende veiligheidsmaatregelen nemen.

Collega’s van andere defensieonderdelen zullen ons bij de beveiliging ondersteunen.

Dat doen ze ondermeer door extra capaciteit te leveren voor waarneming en detectie.”

4. Bijzondere bijstand aan de nationale politie

“De Brigade Speciale Beveiligingsopdrachten levert persoonsbeveiliging en interventiecapaciteit.
De Bijstandseenheid (BE) wordt maximaal ingezet op en rondom Schiphol en Rotterdam The Hague Airport.

De komst van de president Park Geun-hye van Zuid Korea lijkt ook zeker. Niet zo vreemd omdat twee jaar geleden de NSS in Seoul was.

I cannot recall an event with all these 747 bizjets together. Wondering if we also may see some from the middle east: Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain.

China was already mentioned to become a B777-300ER
And for the majority of Arab 747's, I would expect them to fly for London area to park iso Amsterdam.
