Little tour Switserland May 2014 (MIL)

Last week I visited Switserland.

Monday 12-05 Payerne:














Then to Meiringen but a quick stop at Bern for the REGA EC-145





When we visited Meiringen it was already dark but ther was some nightflying







Next morning teusday 13-05 again Meiringen



















At the end of the afternoon we went to Stans but first a stop at Alpnach for the gateguard























When we were going to our hotel we passed a Mirage in Wolfenschiessen, we decided to do some nightshooting



Wednesday 14-05-2014 should be the "verlegungskurs" at Stans, sadly it was raining cats and dogs and the first 2 waves were cancelled.
So we did a visit at the Mirageverein in Stans were they do a very good job at the R-2109











After this little visit we decidec to go for Emmen. When driving along the Pilatus factory were a PC-7mkII was outside in pooring rain

















After Emmen we went home. On our way back we stopped at Lahr for the two stored fighters





Despite the bad weather we had a nice trip. hope you enjoyed looking.

Too bad it rained from time to time but it also got you some nice photographs!
That Mirage looks like it's going to fly some day.

No Ben that Mirage won't fly anymore.
A lot of parts are removed because of radiation. The material is replaced by aluminium. (the plate on the nosewheel and the airbrakes for example.)
Also the ejection seat is disabled. But they can still do some taxi tests.
They tried 10th april, it was exact on that date, 50 yrs ago that the first Mirage landed on Stans.
But something went wrong with the motor of teh R-2109, they try to fix it again!

Just a curious question..... from where is that EC635 at Emmen photographed? the parking lot at the Pilotenschule, underneath the tower perhaps?

At Niels,

the EC-635 pictures from me were indeed taken from the parkinglot underneath the tower.
I saw (Menno/Jutter) walking trough the wet fields a bit more (200 mtrs) to the right (towards the preserved Hunter)
