Re: Karup Air Show 22 June 2014
Erwin, thanks for the quick log. Small addition: in one of the brown tents midfield was another F-84G, coded KP-K plus an unidentified RF-35 cockpit section.
Furthermore, in the town of Karup another F-84G could be found near a kindergarten, 110752/SI-A (should be 19838 really). It had gone from the spot mentioned at eurodemobbed.org.uk (same spot as Google Maps) but we accidentally ran into it just one street further.
And going rather off topic: in Herning we found GT-874, a rather derelict TF-100, in the training grounds of the Danish equivalent of the Securité Civil (forgot the name....).
Greetings,
Bas
PS Thanks Michael for the F-16's! Didn't expect them to come out. Read from pictures?

The unidentified Draken cockpit section is a traveling exhibit, owned by the Draken Team.Basman wrote:Erwin, thanks for the quick log. Small addition: in one of the brown tents midfield was another F-84G, coded KP-K plus an unidentified RF-35 cockpit section.
Its data plate was not filled in.
According EMOOS this cockpit was used for cockpit modifications.

I'm getting a bit confused now on the status of the T-birds. "Luckily", I only saw the fuselage that was in a compound to the east of the Herningvej, just opposie from the west gate and next to the Meteor. As I did not read it myself: which one was that please?

Patrick DT-905 stil by museum.
Thanks gents!Patrick I have been on the other side of the base during the spottersday and I can confirm that the 51-6497/DT-497 is standing near the Lynx platform.
Hope this helps!
Still feeling a bit annoyed about missing that F-84G in town (like many others probably), but glad it still survives at least! One for next time....

Actually, that is the T-33 that used to be on the stick at the Flyveskolen. How was it looking, really preserved, or damaged? Anyone with a picture of it perhaps?kmarrie wrote:Patrick I have been on the other side of the base during the spottersday and I can confirm that the 51-6497/DT-497 is standing near the Lynx platform.

@invader26: thanks so far! You are obviously well placed to answer questions on what was located at the opposite side of the runway seen from the public side. Therefore, two more:
- do you know what the serial was of the "spare" F-16 for the solo demo? It remained parked near a shelter the whole day but its tail could be seen..
- do you know whether there were two or just one C-130 at the field, apart from the one at the static? There was one parked across the runway but at the end of the show one departed from the public side. Was that the same aircraft, was it the one from the static or was it another one? (We were already heading towards the car then)
Again, everybody a big for the updates. Much appreciated!

There were 2 C-130J's on the field. one static (B-538) and the other the flying display (B-537). both departed at the end of the show.
About the spare F-16 at the flightline i'm also curious. Anyone????
Greetz.

Sorry, didn´t pay that much attention to the Danish F-16s...frank kramer wrote:@invader26: thanks so far! You are obviously well placed to answer questions on what was located at the opposite side of the runway seen from the public side. Therefore, two more:
