Didn't anyone (but me ) notice A-924 was not there? There was only one number 5 aircraft, and this was A-916. Too bad, 'cause I still need 924!!!Bennie wrote:Bennie wrote:mainsail2011 wrote:
O.K, some 24 hours later than expected my 'work' is finished. AFAIK, the only thing I did see but didn't list yet is the 2nd Greek F16C. Anyone for a number?
This is what I made of it (all serials between brackets not read off myself, all antique ==censored== left out):
I apologize for the format!!

Hello,
at first a Happy New Year to everyone.
I'm currently running through my pictures of Saturday, 13th September 2014.
During the airfield attack / airpower demo I took a nice picture of F-16AM FA-101 with no marks.
Now, checking all the reports, this aircraft wasn't noted.
I took a picture during the attacks, it didn't took off or landed at Kleine Brogel (at least I got no picture)
According to the Scramble database, it belongs to 2.Wing at Florennes.
So, my questions are - am I the only only one who got it ??
It is a good picture, there is no doubt about the serial, straight from the side and sharp.
So was this the only aircaft flying from Florennes (I very much doubt that, as it doesn't make any sense to me).
Wasn't that recognized by its callsign ?
Just to get a full log, perhaps someone else can confirm other aircraft which flew with FA-101.
Greetings Cujo

Hello CUJO,
I have only the FA-103 and FA-107, and some 2-digit FA-'s. Was there only on saturday.
Do you have a time when you took the pic?
Geert.

And, possibly, post the picture here so we might compare the loadout of this Falcon? FA-107 for instance carried 2 AMRAAM, 2 Sidewinder, two wing tanks.

Can't it be a misread on logical grounds?
Some of the BAF F-16's are wearing their paint and serials thin....
One of the Falcons at Frisian Flag got a two coloured tricolore for as one colour faded completly...
So... missing some paint make an FA101 for every one with a keen eye...
Kind regards,
Stafsels

Hello,
thank you for all the input.
@ geert - no, I have FA-103 & FA-107 also - they were the two "QRA" aircraft, which departed a little bit later.
I was also there on the Saturday. The picture was done (according to the camera) at 10:44
(actually, the camera showed 09:44 but I think I forgot the rechange the timesetting after a visit to the UK)
@ frank kramer - here you are (http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?p=755458#p755458).
Unfortunately it is the left side - landing and take off showed the right side.
@ Stafsels - I would agree with you every time - FA-89 was such a candidate at Kleine Brogel.
However, the picture shows clearly FA-101.
I'm really left open-mouthed that I should be the first one to discover this.
As said, I don't think, that this is/was the only aircraft from Florennes.
Perhabs someone else has a look into his log and can resolve the riddle.
Cheers Cujo

FA-89 has almost the same loadout, exept for the pod under the intake. I have a shot of an F-16 underside, with the same loadout as the FA-101 on the pic, but not one pic of this aircraft during take off or landing.

Credits go where credits are due: you ARE the first. As far as I can tell from my pictures, indeed there was only one other F-16 airborne from Kleine Brogel with an ALQ-131 pod on the centreline pylon. That was FA-89 (indeed a 2W aircraft), and it differs not only in serial from the one in your pictures, but also in the fact that FA-89 also carried a targeting pod on the chin-station, which FA-101 definitely does not...CUJO wrote:Hello,

So, for now, the riddle remains... but FA-101 definitely was there!

According to the movements section on the website of the KB spotters (kbspotting.be) no less than four Florennes F-16's were logged as you presumed... albeit on friday the 12th! They were FA-89 (which operated out of Kleine Brogel and departed on the 14th) and FA-101, FA-126 and FA-127 which operated from somewhere else (Florennes, normally speaking). So, there's no telling (yet) as to which other Florennes F-16 (other than FA-101) were present on the saturday... but we keep working on that!
