Q about museo del aire Cuatro Vientos Madrid

hello, who knows when the museum is closed , if you can still see the aircraft standing outside ?

I believe the museum is located inside the military base and I think they probably close the gate outside opening hours

When the museum is closed you can still get very close to the grounds. Most of what is parked outside is visible from there, but you can forget about taking pictures (except a few).

HI,

Just visited the museum. The larger aircraft are outside, and visible from the gate, which I assume is locked when the museum is closed. Many of the smaller aircraft that are outside, would be hidden behind the larger aircraft. The ex foreign aircraft (migs, Sukhoi etc are further away from the gate.

You have to pass a security gate to get to the museum. This is not a problem when the museum is open, as the road goes past the guards , however I am unsure they wouldnt get interested if the museum was shut. When we visited one hanger was shut, the other 6 were open, although hanger 7 only has models in it.

There are a couple of aircraft between hangers 6/7 ( a mirage fuselage and a bonanza, plus other wings etc) and an F4 beside hanger 5.

we got a taxi from Madrid Centro at around 20e and then called a cab from the museum to terminal side (also around 20e).

We didnt get a chance to visit the Fundation Infante, as both museums were only open from 1100 to 1400, however we later found out that someone stayed later at FIO, and would have allowed access, so it is worth emailing prior.

As an aside, there was a Casa without wings '02' on nose, parked amongst civil, and a gaggle of mil outside the hangers, all tail on (Casas and C27s?

if anyone can help with those, that would be great

pps if you do the same as me, call a taxi to come while the museum is open, or at least take a mobile and a local taxi number, as there are no phones visible, and the two lovely guards gave us a number, but wouldnt call it for us...however one of the ladies did take over our call when the taxi controller didnt understand where we were

Hi Steve,
we were in CTV on March 29th, 2015.
CASA 212 wingless with 02 on nose isT.12B-26.
We could identify following stored CASA 212:
TR.12D-81
T.12C-61
T.12B-22
stored DHC-4 Caribou is T.9-5.

We counted 12 CASA 212, 1 DHC4, 2 FK27.
If anybody can provide the regs, it would be great.
