Good afternoon,
for those with plans for visiting DUS: the airport website has announced that the visitors terrace is closed since October 27th, 2014 on behalf of of (re)building activities and security measures.
They think re-opening could be halfway December 2014 but the final date will be announced on the website. To soften the blow the entrance fee then will be half the normal price until January 15th, 2015.
Nothing is mentioned any more about the railway station terrace. One can assume that closure of that facilty then will be definitive.
Cheers, Ab Gobets.

Re: Düsseldorf (EDDL/DUS) terrace closed
Anyone know if the terrace (one of them or both) have been opened by now?
Re: Düsseldorf (EDDL/DUS) terrace closed
Main terrace is open daily from 10:00 until 19:00 .
Entrance fee : 2,20 euro for adults 1 euro for children.
There is upgraded security now ( same as cabin luggage check at airports , but you can bring something to drink)
The railway station terrace will not be open anymore.

Thanks for the update. Been there and indeed noticed the security check. Friendly personnel, but quite a hassle when you want to go inside to get a bite to eat. Sadly, I guess it's all part of today's increasing security threats in Europe (we all know who are responsible), but fortunately DUS at least keeps the terrace open.
