Spangdahlem 13-02-2015: Vipers and Warthogs
Went to Spangdahlem yesterday to catch the Davis Monthan A-10's coming in from lajes. It turned out to be a great day as the weather was excellent and the aircraft just fine. 16 local F-16's coming home from Souda Bay after an exercise (Two didn't make it) and ten out of twelve Warthogs (I think I don't have to mention anymore were the other two went ! ). Furthermore the two tankers came along with the A-10's. Also two C-17's showed up. And last but not least two Canadian Hornets flew a mission. A third one (188756) had an aborted take off. And off course the place was packed with spotters. Mostly from Holland but also some Germans and Belgians were there. We even had a visit by the Security Police. But after warning us not to photograph any infrastructure on base they didn't bother us anymore. Thanx Rene and Patrick for your company.

Great to see A-10s and F-16s back in the skies "together".
Does anyone know if the A-10s have already started flying this week?

TSP Europe arrives at Spangdahlem, 13-02-2015
Hi all,
I couldn't find any post on the arrivals of the A-10C Thunderbolt IIs from Davis-Monthan AFB, so I created a new one.
Here some shots of the arrival of the Theater Security Package Europe at Spangdahlem AB. Besides the A-10s we
also saw sixteen local F-16s coming home from Souda Bay and two Canadian CF-188 Hornets.
A full report on this day including a full log can be found at my website: http://www.fly-by.nl
Hope you like these!
