ETAD 15 September 2015
Made a quick stop at Spangdahlem yesterday:
C-17A 02-1100 155AS/TN ANG
5x F-16 arrival +/- 15:30
2x MV-22 arrival 18:30
Any information on the F-16's and the MV-22's?

Re: ETAD 15 September 2015
Sorry that I need to ask, but by what Scramble rules would that picture not have been allowed?
Why are we perfectly happy to look at shots from inside Vietnamese shelters (some posts below in this subforum), but don't apply the same logic for pictures shot inside a US airbase on German soil?
I can totally understand that the Germans and Americans don't appreciate this kind of pictures being posted, but by what Scramble rule is this not allowed? I have been reading through the posting rules on top of this subforum, but couldn't find anything related to this.
Please help me out here.
Regards,
Paul

Re: ETAD 15 September 2015
I think the explanation is pretty easy.
In Germany it is commonly known, that you hardly have any problems taking pictures of aircraft, but taking pictures of airbase-infrastructures is a "no go".
Showing such pictures might at a certain point convince the authorities that they should no longer allow spotters near an airbase.

Re: ETAD 15 September 2015
Hi Gerard,
Sure, I understand this and also do not post these pictures myself (since often they are ==censored== at Spang anyway). But at the same time it cannot be the case that we let the German Polizei or the USAF dictate the posting rules of an independent Dutch based and hosted spotters community site in my humble opinion.
So, it this "not allowed" rule based on actual Scramble posting rules or on some self - applied censorship?
Taking the Vietnamese example again: do you believe these authorities would be happy with these pictures? Yet, we choose not to care.
Can a Scramble moderator please confirm the rules with regards to these kind of "inside the base pictures" please?
Thanks once again.

Re: ETAD 15 September 2015
There is no scramble rule on this subject, it is the basic rule "don't fcuk up for your colleagues" that applies here...
== All is well, as long as we keep spinning ==
Re: ETAD 15 September 2015
Sure, but please don't judge people on not following rules that do not even exist. I know this is about Germany, but Kafka seems to be the guy behind this one.....
I'll leave it with that, since I don't believe that we will find middle ground here.
Have a nice day.
Regards,
Paul
