Great photos and a great report so far. You were really lucky with the weather.
@V.P. from Belgium: I hope you enjoyed your stay in Taiwan.

Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

THURSDAY 19 NOV 2015: TAINAN AIRBASE
The sky was a bit hazy this morning. Always better than thick clouds and a rainshower of course, but so far I had been spoilt with blue skies every morning. Flying started later than at Hualien and Taitung and around 10AM the first F-CK-1's came back.
F-CK-1C
F-CK-1D
F-CK-1C
F-CK-1C
F-CK-1D
An F-16B from Chiayi made an approach:
21st TFG F-16B
There were also some other visitors (C-130, Be 1900 and an OH-58) but they all chose the airport runway, which meant backlit pictures in the morning.
At 1100 I had logged 13 aircraft and decided to pay a quick visit to nearby Gueiren army base before driving to Taoyuan IAP for my return flight later that day. At Gueiren I saw 8 different helicopters landing in about 10 minutes. Photography is pretty ok there, but not around lunch time when the sun is exactly on the axis of the the landing patterns, so I won't bother you with the rather dark results.
Altogether, I enjoyed my trip a lot and I can really recommand Taiwan to everyone. Besides some rare aircraft types, the country also has great scenery and friendly people. For sure enough reasons to go back one day!

A really fascinating set Patrick
After returning recently from a 1st time visit to Japan . I'm looking at options of where next....
Your photos really make me want to go so if you could share any more experiences /location info that would be great.
Thinking of roughly the same time next year.
Cheers Rich
