When reading the USAFE-news website, I understand that these 4 will be deployed to Iceland for QRA duties for the upcoming weeks. Doesn't say that they will join the 8 at Leeuwarden later on.

Hi,

Have a look at: http://www.sunearthtools.com/dp/tools/pos_sun.php
Here you can find-out how the direction of the sun will be for every place on earth; at any given time during the year!

1. Move to the google-map till you are at EHLW runway (choose "satelliet view")
2. Double click to set the location.
3. select time-zone GMT+1
4. In the upper-right corner, you can a select a mode (standard is sun path) --> choose sun rays
5. hit the blue "execute" button

And there you have it! You can now than see that just before 17:00 you will have the sun exactly parallel to the runway. After 17:00, you wil slightly face the sun against you when standing on the "spotters-hill"....

In principe bijna nergens, want de weilanden aan de andere kant is defensie terrein waar bordjes met Art.461 verboden toegang bij staan.
Politie en KMAR patrouilleren nu al regelmatig bij de bult, dus er wordt op u gelet.

BORA 12 & 22 are indeed KC135's but will remain Statesside.
As always. first leg of the ferry is done by KC135 support, KC10's will drag them over the ocean (BORA 11 & 21)

I am saying 'No' here. Air Policing Iceland is a long duty, usually.
USAFE says: "Upon arrival in Europe, the F-15s will head to two separate locations to simultaneously support the NATO air surveillance mission in Iceland and conduct flying training at Leeuwarden Air Base, Netherlands."
So the 12 will split up, 4 go to Iceland and do Air Policing / QRA duties, the other 8 will go to EHLW for FF2016. Exactly as Wijgert said, earlier on.

Thanks for the replies guys! But if they are indeed delayed for at least 24 hours we will have to see what will happen over the weekend!?
Can't imagine Leeuwarden opening during the weekend but I hope I am wrong....

Thanks agani!

Joostmil just made this remark... but realize many spotters will be driving hundreds of kilometers to see them arriving. If you say 'I just received this message' make it clear to everyone what the official source is! Then we can make up our minds to go or stay at home... :?:

That's an old NOTAM. Things may have changed.
