Is Wittmund operational again? Can one expect some flying activities there. I've never been to this base and am planning a visit somewhere in august. Any info?

Flying ops resumed on 28 July after closure of 3.5 weeks. 4 Eurofighter that were operating from Laage and Nörvenich have returned, 4 of the 6 A-4Ns as well. Last 2 Skyhawks probably still at Fassberg, should return to Wittmund soon.

Two Pave Hawks arrived from EGUL today. (source: flugzeugforum)
Does anyone know the reason for the visit and how long they will stay?

This afternoon around 14:30 LT, 3 Pave Hawks were overhead Holland heading southwest, so I guess they already departed Wittmund.....Nils Berwing wrote:Two Pave Hawks arrived from EGUL today. (source: flugzeugforum)

Re: Wittmund (ETNT) 2016 MIL
Hi all.
We visited Wittmund 23/8. Five Euffies flying in only afternoon mission due to total power outage upon start of morning mission. No Skyhawks flying.
Remark for entry to the field at rwy26 treshold: the farmer owning the land was upset about his grass being damaged and concerned about garbage he had found earlier at the fence. He asked us to position ourselves at the hill and not in the field. He will take action if people will stand in the grassfield e.g. calling police. So be aware: the hill is fine, the fence is off-limits as far as this farmer is concerned. Expect trouble if you will enter the grassland.
Greetings,
Jos.

Re: Wittmund (ETNT) 2016 MIL
Will here be flight activity on coming Thursday and Friday? And what kind of weather is predicted?
Re: Wittmund (ETNT) 2016 MIL
Expect no flying activity after 1200LT on Fridays, otherwise flying is relatively good at Wittmund currently. About the weather: just check the weather sites and you will know...

October 21st visitor: GAF241. I suspect she's a C160, coming from Southern Europe (TLP???).
