Jaloers? Ja, ik ook. Hoewel toen al in het bezit van de eerste camera, fotografeerde dat toch een stuk minder prettig. Een Ricoh....! Type 500G. Jawel.....

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
This topic brings a lot: not only the fantastic aircraft shots, but it's like going back in a time machine... as mentioned: 'I could smell the avgas, hear the engine sounds, hear the silence breaking when distant start up sounds were heard, it made your heart pound faster ...' it means those pictures bring out memories you did not even know anymore till the moment you see them.
Starting aircraft photography in 1965 in Ermelo (NL), near the army barracks over there a Light Aircraft Strip was situated. Many L21’s visited this LAS especially during big army manoeuvres. From 1967 I was allowed to ride my mother’s moped, so I extended my horizon and went with it to Soesterberg about one hour drive.. I joined the Air Force of course in 1971 up to 2004 doing ATC, combining work and hobby as much as possible!

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
With to moped to Twenthe airbase took me about 2 hours driving to the east. But it was worth wild: a lot of early Starfighters the trainers still in their nice grey outfit. Two Globe's brought equipment for the coming rotation with (when I remember right) 36TFW bitburg with F4. Look at the observer on the roof!

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
1970 was the year that the 10th Tigemeet was organised between 6 - 10 of July at Kleine-Brogel EBBL. Participants were: Belgian AF 10Wing F104G , Canadian AF 439Sq CF104 , Italian AF 53 Stormo F104G, Royal AF 226OCU Lightning, USAF 79TFS F100 and 53TFS F4D, German AF AKG 52 RF104G and WS50 Fiat G91, French AF 12 Esc Super Mystere. The latter did not participate the year before as France withdrew from NATO exercises...
