I could not agree more, the 35's of many nations are not very exciting, I was hoping to get the 21st color bird but this is all we got and I had not shot any of the Japanese 35's. You think since I live 7 miles from the base id get more lol

How is activity nowadays? Are they flying on a regular basis with F35 and F16?

When the 35's first arrived and the 16 squadrons moving to Holloman it was dead, seems like every week we are getting more and more new F-35 and activity really steady now

Last May I had 27 active F-16s and 10 active F-35As in 4 hours. So still better flying activity than many European bases. Next month I will be there again to see how activity improved.

The F-35 is of course the latest in fighter and stealth technology ... still, that F-16A looks so much more advanced to me? The F-35 looks like a flying brick, it even makes a Phantom appear graceful.

Do you know from which units the 311th and 314th FS received their F-16s from? I can't imagine they got the 62nd FS F-16s as these were the oldest in service? When I was at Luke in 2012, they were still flying FY83 Block 25 models?

Hard to imagine that the "16" era is coming to an end at Luke. The F-35's don't look nearly as nice.

Lived in Phoenix in 2009/2010 and spent many hours at the fences. Back then you would get 27 F-16's in almost half an hour. How times change.

309th FS F-16s went to Holloman as 311th FS and the 62nd FS F-16s were send to 309. 309 still operates some fy 83/84/85
314th FS received all 308th FS F-16s

Nowadays 309 and 310 remain at Luke, together with the Taiwanese and Singaporese F-16s. So currently 4 F-16 units at Luke and two full F-35 swquadrons. Third F-35 squadron (63rd FS) already stood up in 2016 and will receive there first two F-35As in March 2017

All Japanese F-35s seem to have to roundel at the same location imho. Or do you mean ' in comparison to the other airforces' ?
