Paris 14-07-2017 with Thunderbirds!
Just read on the internet that the USAF Will send 2 F-22 Raptors and the Thunderbirds for the flypast over the Champs Elysees!!!
This is to celebrate 100 years of cooperation between France and the US.
This Year looks to be a very special and interesting defilé aerien!
Regards, Per

Is there more information known about the participants, layout and times of this flypast?

Check the salle de presse/dossiers section on the official French MoD website. They have a pdf file with the complete line up.

Anything known regarding operating bases for the flypast?
Last years saw Evreux for most of the fixed-wings and Villacoubly for the helos. But what about this year?
NOTAM shows that one ramp at Evreux will be reserved for participating aircraft.
And USAF? Flying out of Fairford?

Looks like fixed wing aircraft at 10.45 and helicopters at 11.30.

The ALAT a/c operated from Creil last year. This year's practice has seen helicopters and fast jets operating from Chateaudun...Richard de Florennes wrote:Anything known regarding operating bases for the flypast?

Practice is each year done at Chateaudun. It has something to do with the location of Chateaudun.Freeman Lowell wrote:The ALAT a/c operated from Creil last year. The question now is where the ALAT helicopters will operate from since Creil is closed now. Or will they open Creil again for 2 days for the participating helicopters?
The last years the Aeronavale a/c operated from their homebase as well as the big a/c like E3 and C135. But this year everything can be different....

Runway is in the same heading as L'Avenue des Champs Elysees. At least that has been the reason since years ago.Ronaldsnl wrote:It has something to do with the location of Chateaudun.

Thank you for the information regarding Chateaudun.
Last year two ramps were used at Evreux: one for the Mirages (northern) and one for the Rafales and Alpha Jets (southern).
As an aside, now that Creil is closed, where is the northern QRA located?
