Is the cargo already being off-loaded :?:

Some sources claim this freighter-Jumbo will have to become (much) lighter
before it can be towed back to hardened surface/asphalt...

The last days a huge shelter was build around the cockpit section of the plane. It is parked an the D-apron so mechanics will have a shelter to rebuild the cockpit section. The repairs will take some 6-7 weeks.

a cockpit rebuild, after a low speed runway excursion ??
There might be some serious gear damage due to the clay and mud.

This image shows the nosegear severly damaged. The cockpit is some 12m over the ground.....

Motors botched Boeing 747 are going to roar tomorrow morning

The Boeing 747 with engine trouble was parked for almost six months at the airport to be patched up.

The engines of the Boeing 747 that slipped off the track at Maastricht Airport last year
will be tested at full speed tomorrow morning,
Wednesday 6 June 2018, from 8 am to 9 am.

The airport warns local residents that the noise can cause noise pollution in the area.
The runway will also be unavailable for several hours.
If the test runs smoothly, the aircraft can leave the next day.

After the engine tests,
the aircraft will use the runway from 9.00 to 12.00.

The job is then closed for other flights.

This only has consequences for cargo planes, which can land or take off later in the day.

It has no consequences for passenger flights.

The first device from Corendon only lands at 2 p.m. in the afternoon, according to a spokesman.

If the tests with the Boeing are satisfactory,
the repaired unit will leave a day later.

The Boeing hit the runway on November 11 last year 2017 in the evening.
The pilot had discovered a fault in the engines.

He broke the start, and the plane shot a few yards from the track.

The airport was closed to all traffic until the evening after.

Parked
The cargo plane has been parked under a special tent at the airport during the past few months.

The repair took several months.

This was partly because parts first had to be sent to the Boeing factory
in the United States to serve as the basis for a mold.

On that basis, the new components were made and then transported back to Maastricht Aachen Airport.

New society
If the plane can take off again, it does not start with the Saudi Cargo logo on the side of the aircraft.

The lease contract of that company has now expired.

The cargo plane leaves Zuid-Limburg under the flag of ACT Airlines.
