btw without an big ladder ,it´s very hard to make good Arrival Pictures at RWY 23 side... the plants really grow up in the years..
fortunely I had my 4WD Pick Up and on top of that a 5 Step ladder...so everything goes well....

well yes and no, I supose that the histeric "blue chicken lady" (Female SP ) really will not be amused ,if I start to squirl my Stihl or Husquvarna chainsaw..because it´s not only outside, ist also inside hahahaha...
well with the time it will be cute..for sure... this Approach reminds me a Little of the really good old days in RS RWY 27 Approach... you first hear the Jet... focused on the ege of the trees... bamm here we are...always a challenge to catch
the bird hahahaha

yes you need 4WD! my "car" is a Ford Ranger Wildtrak so with 4WD etc.. with a normal car no chance! don´t try it!... or you use an ATV etc

Hello Frenkie,Frenkie wrote:Wow, really nice and clear pictures. Mind sharing settings/equipment used?
my main "Action Lense" I use since it came out (2004) is Sigma EX 300-800 mm F5.6 APO later DG APO... I hade several these lenses, the last one I keep is from 2014.. and will grow old with me togehter hahaha bodies I use since 2004 is Canon EOS Digital (before digital aera Minolta Dynax 9 and Canon EOS1V HS)... from EOS1D up to 1DMKIV ,5D to 5D MKII ,now 7DMKII ,6DMKII als well still EOS1DMKIIN and EOS1DMKIV and so on... some of my pictures you can see in my public albums in Facebook... if you use it.. many examples you will find here
https://www.facebook.com/QACA.de/media_ ... 991&type=3
or here
Sion 2017--- from the hill... what a lovely point...
https://www.facebook.com/QACA.de/media_ ... 991&type=3
or here a day in El Centro.... back in 2007
https://www.facebook.com/QACA.de/media_ ... 991&type=3
I hate digital cropping (cuting out on PC) so the black frame is like the "Slide frame" to see... 100% of my pictures are full frame shots!...
Settings on that day in Spangdahlem is RAW ISO 100 A-Set to Shift F 8.0 or 9.0 minus 2/3 corr and then different mm ,the take off pictures are between 550mm and 1200mm the arrival shots between 400-600mm... (Falcons)... on this day I used mainly the EOS7D MKII... sharp sets on 3/4/4...
any further questions feel free to ask---

Re: Spangdahlem Air Base 13.02.2018
Seems about the same as the settings I use. I also tend to use ISO100 and keep it as low as possible, usually af F9. My main lens at the moment is the Sigma 150-600 Sport, but it seems you also use a converter for extra mm. Speed is at about 1/320 or faster?
My body is still bad though, haven't gotten round to purchasing a better one. After remoddeling my new house, I will upgrade the old Canon 60D to something better (probably a 5D mk IV or something).

Re: Spangdahlem Air Base 13.02.2018
well Konverter I use not often sometimes in Ramstein Air Base (from the Bismarck Tower) ...with the Sigma EX 300-800mm you have with an EOS7D MKII as example effectly a 480mm to 1280mm lense WITHOUT any konverter!... with an 1.4 Konverter from Sigma EX System you have then effectly a 672mm to 1792mm Lense... but its not more usefull for high speed jet shots... many actionpictures in the past I shoot with the EOS1D Range Bodies! with a 1,3 factor sensor so you have the with the Sigma EX 300-800mm a 390 to 1040mm lense or with your lense a 195 to 780mm lense what in my eyes is still a powerfull combi! used Canon EOS1D MKIV with 16,1 mio pixle you can get used in mint condition for 900-1400 Euro ! and thats still much better in our branche then a 5DMKIV!Frenkie wrote:Seems about the same as the settings I use.
