I was there last year to visit Chernobyl, and also visited the State Aviation Museum in Kiev. There are two gates where you have a clear view of the runway and north-eastern taxiway of Zhuliany Airport.
Taking pictures was no problem when I was there.
Entrance fee is 50 uah (about 1,55 euro)

Re: Anyone been to Keiv Recently?
Hi,
About 5 years ago I also visited the museum. Photography there was OK, but when I took photos some active Antonov's over the fence on Vulytsya Medova I was approached by some security guy in civilian cloths. After some 'discussion' with language issues, and some checking of my travel document on their side, he let me go.
Regards
Martin

Re: Anyone been to Keiv Recently?
If you will only visit the Kiev area I can only tell you to be as low profile as possible. Don't walk along the fence with any big lenses/ binoculars.
My experience: the security can be very unpredicted at those bigger airports. If you are visiting the smaller airfields where you can find many small prop aircrafts and normally some an-2's etc. I can recommend you to just make yourself known to the "local airport staff" and ask them if you can photograph the present aircraft.
It's hard to tell how they will respond in general. My experience with local Ukraine people: They are very friendly. But because of "the situations" that is still going on with Russia, some of them can be a little more nervous than normally.
Have fun and lots of success.

While in Kiev don't forget the open air side of the Museum of history of Ukraine in World War 2, where some aircraft from a WW2 Yak or Li-2 to more recent devices (Mig 23, Mi-24...) are to be seen :
