Leipzig/Halle 04.06
Lots of choppers through here today. Six US Army CH-46s departed together in the morning, following which came in nine Apaches. These departed later. Then, in the afternoon another CH-46 left along with nine Blackhawks. Unfortunately I couldn't identify any of them due to them being too distant !

Turns out it was the following...Saudistu wrote:Lots of choppers through here today. Six US Army CH-46s departed together in the morning, following which came in nine Apaches. These departed later. 6 x CH.47 departed. One later returned (this one left with the Blackhawks later), and another one of them made an Emergency Landing in a field:

8 x Apaches and 1 x Blackhawk arrived and then departed I guess after a Fuel stop.
9 x Blackhawks and the CH-47 departed together in the afternoon (did not see these arrive). Hopefully they will all have been identified somewhere en-route to their final destination !

Also, yesterday (Tuesday) another CH-47 arrived at 1523. Don't kow if it was the one that had the Emergency Landing.

I don't see 14-09462 in the Database. Maybe it was 14-08462 ?Bennie wrote:Serialwise, 14-09462 was the unfortunate Chinook. Anyone for the others?

So, I have these so far:
14-08462 CH-47F 2-227th AVN
15-08177 CH-47F 2-227th AVN
15-08180 CH-47F 2-227th AVN

16-03085 APACHE 1-227th AVN
16-03089 APACHE 1-227th AVN
16-03095 APACHE 1-227th AVN
16-03099 APACHE 1-227th AVN
16-03110 APACHE 1-227th AVN
17-03123 APACHE 1-227th AVN
93-26510 B/HAWK 2-227th AVN

That leaves 3 X CH-47F still to identify and 1 X Blackhawk (unless the one with the Apache wave came back) from the Monday, plus 1 X CH-47F that arrived Tuesday at 1523 Local.

The Apaches and Chinooks were seen in the morning at Illesheim.
Also noted here were Chinooks 08175, 08181, 08183 and 08463
Your 3 Chinooks are likely from this group.
