Hi All

Landed at MAD on the 25th Feb, saw one A330MRTT, nose inside the hanger and one A400M

I assume the A400M is the German noted above?

Any ideas on the A330 please?

If your A400 had an Iron Cross on it you've a 50% chance with your assumption. If you couldn' t be sure of the nationaliy it's 33 & a third. There was a Grey Peruvian B737 at the executive terminal, is that still 356? The 330s are there for maintenance, sorry cant help with that.

Is this maintenance area also visible from outside the airport, or only during landing/take-off/taxiing?

Many thanks for the replies...

A400 was tail on so no idea of the operator, if other A400's were present they must have been hangered, so one for another day.

The A330 was in standard grey camo, so Saudi must have also been hangered.

I think FAP-356 B735 arrived on the 26th, so not seen on the 25th.

Maintenance area is between the normal arrival runways, so the correct window seat allows views, also a number of A340's and MD-80s stored in this area.

100 years ago, well maybe it was the 1971/72 season, there were reports of massive numbers of KLu TF-104Gs in Alconbury the night of Arsenal vs Ajax, some kind of weather problems in the Odiliapeel area …… did you check Torrejon yesterday?
