Re: Japan Airshows 2019
ALL T-4s are grounded since 2 Apr., because of the engine trouble.
The Blue Impulse show at Iwakuni and Miho had cancelled.

Looks like Hyakuri have announced the date of their show:
"Expected" (according to Google Translate) on 1st December:
https://www.mod.go.jp/asdf/hyakuri/pr.html
Further details of the show should be posted there when they are available.

Hi Uni,
in relation to the fleet review, do you have any idea on the exact dates when this will be held and where will the aircraft that will participate be based from? I will be in Japan in October and it would be great to witness arrivals/departures of the naval aircraft it if I have the chance.
Regards,
Alistair

Ahh, it means "highly expected" or "almost confirmed" in this case.
I myself (Japanese) treat the information as "decided" or "confirmed".

But they will start training about a month before, with one or a few a/cs.
They will have the rehearsal flight 10,7 and 3 days before.
(And there will be some additional flights)
I think;
P-1s from Atsugi
P-3Cs from Shimofusa or Atsugi
US-2s from Iwakuni
SH-60Ks from Tateyama
MCH-101s from Tateyama or Shimofusa
F-15s and F-2S from Hyakuri or Hamamatsu
CH-47Js from Kisarazu
Blue Impulse from Iruma or Hyakuri
Check this HP.

My interpretation is “That is when we plan to have it, and when we will have it unless it is cancelled because of volcanic eruption, earthquake, tsunami, landslide, fires, floods, contagion, operating accidents, foreign aggression or the untimely passing of a much-loved member of the royal family”.
The usual potential risks to air show planning.

If you search for “JMSDF Japan Naval Parade 2015” on YouTube, the last few minutes of arronlee33's video give an idea of what could take part. I haven’t done the JSDF reviews myself, so otherwise I will defer to Uni’s knowledge on this.
If I were doing it, I would hang around Atsugi – the P-2s and C-130R would have come from there. I suspect some of the P-3s would have as well, but I couldn’t say for sure, and I’m not sure how many they will have remaining with the build-up of the P-2 fleet. Not sure if the TC-90s staged through Atsugi or came from Tokushima.
I would expect the USN P-8 and USMC MV-22 to have staged through Atsugi as well, but whether they will participate this year, and whether they will base from there or elsewhere is another matter.
As for the dates, the JSDF tend to stick with a formula that works (mostly). The previous dates for the review have been:
JASDF 19-Oct-08
JMSDF 25-Oct-09
JGSDF 24-Oct-10
JASDF 16-Oct-11
JMSDF 14-Oct-12
JGSDF 27-Oct-13
JASDF 26-Oct-14
JMSDF 18-Oct-15
JGSDF 23-Oct-16
JASDF 29-Oct-17 (Cancelled due to typhoon)
JGSDF 14-Oct-18
(Turns out that Uni has been providing Japanese air show information on Scramble since 2008 – Thanks Uni.)
All those dates are on Sunday. So it is reasonably likely that this year it will be on Sunday 20 or Sunday 27 October. Possibly with a rehearsal a week earlier.
Unless the JSDF decide that this period is too close to the lengthening typhoon season, and push it back.

Hi Uni, many thanks for this information.
Do you have any idea about the transition of F-2s to Hyakuri in 2019? Recently a friend of mine has visited and he was told that the squadron has already performed some tests at Hyakuri.
Wish you a good day
