Then on to one of my most interesting visits! Columbus AFB. What an amazing base! With a lot of T-1s not here and no flying in the evening, they "only" planned 270 sorties that day! I arrived around 07.00 and they were flying already. From the outside, there are a few spots. Initially I was standing close to the fence in the NE corner. Very good spot for serials. Pictures as well, but within 30 min they were with me and I was "investigated" quite a bit. Taking pictures there was not allowed. You can stand (see airfield guide) a bit further away, but didn't like that spot. Anyway, from 09.00 I was on base for few hours. I probably will have some errors here, as it was chaos in getting everything

Still the TY T-38 was very nice!
Then the big show for me was Tinker! Went there very early (think I was on base within the first 10), and that was my luck. I heard later the waiting for the security checks was 90-120mins! A lot of questionmarks here still, as I haven't seen any other report(s) yet. Besides, quite some heavies on the other side, who were hard to read. Early afternoon a very big storm past exactly overhead, causing some panic and damage. But after that, the F-16 demo and Blues still went up.
