work needed me to visit the Fort Lauderdale and Miami-area at the end of February, so I ensured some extra time to do some spotting. It took me a while to sort through all the photos and it took a little longer due to the Corona-outbreak heavily impacted my work and private-life over the last few weeks. Hopefully these pictures are not a memory of what once was and that we can see improvement in the situation soon.
Easiest way to reach Florida was flying to Miami and the day before KLM and Delta brought me to Miami via Atlanta. I arrived in the early hours of the 22nd of February and after several hours of sleep, I made my way to the spot at the El Dorado furniture store at NW 12th St. At this spot you can capture all traffic on runway 09. Normally the wind at Miami is blowing from the east, and runway 09, 12 and 08L/R are then the preferred runways. Spotting is also very much easier when on this configuration.
