Plotting over Greece is C130J 662 on a northbound course, destination predictable, educated guessing ETA would be 11-ish
Re: Rumour item: IDF-AF to excersise in Germany

Re: IDF-AF to excersise in Germany
As the IDF-AF visit was mentioned in context of the MAGDAY exercise i'd like to share the below info from NATO newsroom regarding the previous MAGDAY.
https://ac.nato.int/archive/2020/MAGDAY-20-2
"On Monday and Tuesday the events for the training event called MAGDAYs were planned and coordinated and on Wednesday and Thursday fighter and support aircraft from Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States as well as Partner Switzerland executed aerial combat training and air-to-air refuelling drills in training areas over the North Sea off the Netherlands and Denmark as well as over Northern Germany."
Given this collaboration with other parties, someone must know more... anyone??

662 is using callsign IAF132 (what a surprise) and is checking in with Padua radar 134.750 at 09.58z.
Eta would be in around 1/1.5 hours from now, so around 12.00/12.30 local in Norvenich?

That maybe a bit too much asked for, even in this information age, and given the sensitivity of the subject.
Aircraft spotting still has its uncertainties. And I am glad it has, otherwise I personally would have picked a different hobby...

Re: IDF-AF to excersise in Germany
If there are more participants than the IDF, chance is big they will fly from their homebase. They did so with the last MAGDAYs because of the corona situation.

Previous editions saw UK Typhoons and USAFE F15 aircraft operating from their homebase and being refeulled above the North Sea (German, Danish and Dutch part). One edition saw Hungarian and Czech Gripens operate from Schleswig Jagel.

What has emerged so far / has been rumoured so far (AFAIK);
- arrival 17 August into Nörvenich
- this link: https://www.iaf.org.il/Sip_Storage/FILES/3/83853.jpg suggests F-16s and G550 being involved
- rumours about (a) 707(s) to Köln-Bonn
- overflight Fürstenfeldbruck is rumoured to be on 18 August (not early September)

Re: IDF-AF to excersise in Germany
Now confirmed by the Luftwaffe: Israeli aircraft will be based at Nörvenich from 17-28 August. They will indeed perform an overflight over Fürstenfeldbruck and Dachau on the 18th. First week is only exercise between the Luftwaffe and the IDF/AF, the second week is the MAGDAY. During that last part more nations will participate, but no details about those are given (yet).

So, the exercise badge seems to confirm that Israel will send F-16's.

No G550 on the badge. Maybe not enough space...
