Skrydstrup 2020
Celebrating 40 years of the F-16 Fighting Falcon with the Danske Flyvevabnet was Fighter Wing at EKSP on 17.01.2020.
The squadrons Esk 727 and 730 sent nine F-16AM/BM at 10.05 hrs to the sky to perfom a roundtrip to the North of Denmark (Jütland) and flew via Aalborg and Karup plus many other locations.
Departing were nine F-16AM E-004, E-016, E-075, E-599, E-603, E-604, E-606 and BM ET-197, ET-198, ET-612 (10 a/c landed). One of the BM came obviously from another base. Two further unidentified QRA jets ("Moon Beam“) departed in a Tango Scramble. After their 1 hour and 15 minutes flight most of them performed a nine ship formation over the base. Shortly afterwards clean F-16AM E-190 departed for a very nice flying display, most in full afterburner and very low. After this at least nine F-16 attacked the airfield. None of the special coloured F-16 was airborne in the morning.
In the afternoon nearly the same happened, but the formation routed via Southern Denmark, Sealand and the Kopenhagen area.
The Esk 722 detachment exchanged their EH.101 Merlin Mk.512, one unidentified arrived and M-513 departed.
Serials corrected!!! Thanks to R.J.

Active today for the flag day were ESK 727/730 F-16AM E-189 and E-191 (‚Dannebrog‘) plus BM ET-207 and ET-613.
(credit to R.J.)
At least three of them were part of the QRA. Obviously the ‚older‘ F-16AM and BM are mainly used for the four QRA aircrafts.

Re: Skrydstrup 2020
On October 1, 2020 Danske Flyvevabnet will celebrate it's 70th anniversary.
In the tradition to prepare special coloured aircraft for years for anniversaries a F-16 will get a foil showing the planned colour scheme of a Danish F-35A. Already foiled up was T-17 T-415 showing the old silver/dayglow colour scheme with large roundels of a Chipmunk T.20 in Flyvesskolan and Station Flight Service until 1976.

Re: Skrydstrup 2020
Today F-16AM E-005 was delivered from the Hovedvaerksted Aalborg in the new "special F-35A colour scheme" to Skrydstrup.
Next year all remaining Block-10 F-16 will be written from use, that include F-16AM E-189, E-190, E-191 ("Dannebrog"), E-194 and F-16BM ET-207, ET-208. So only 37 Block-15 F-16AM/BM will soldier on.
Noted at Aalborg on 22.9. was E-011 last seen flying at Fighter Wing Skrydstrup in 2019, but it should still be active.
