BTW, F-35 169623 is now unmarked while it arrived two weeks ago with modex 07. So maybe not UDP related and new jets for VMFA-121 after all?

I asked a friend who is a P-3 pilot at Iwakuni and he confirmed that VMFA-121 received 8 new F-35's.

Five VMFA-312 Hornets departed yesterday from Miramar to Honolulu as DORY 51-55.
Supporting tankers from Travis AFB were FIST 01 (18-46047) and FIST 02 (63-7991).

The second cell DORY 61-64 arrived at Miramar just before the departure of DORY 51 flight,
their tankers were FIST 11 (16-46018) and FIST 12 (62-3531) both going to Travis.
