Having a bird like the Lancaster here is extremely rare. We used to see the Dutch B-25 now and then, or the Danish Invader, but it has been long they visited AFAIK. Apart from the DDA Dakotas and the odd visit by a DC-6 (e.g. Red Bull), months go by at Schiphol without the sound of even a single classic piston engine.Waynster wrote:can some of the regulars tell me if there are many guests of this pedigree landing and stopping in Schiphol Oost?

Re: EHAM 19-05-2009 MIL
I don't know what to think actually...
1. I'm so very sorry I missed the final departure to the UK. (Did see the test flight).
2. I'm so very happy I can finally get back to doing all the other stuff screaming for my attention
The whole thing was awesome though and I definitely hope to witness something like this again in my lifetime.
Greetz,
Mike

I'm very lucky as I get see her several times a year @ various airshows in the UK & she has been known to fly over my house which pleases me no end! I am also a member of the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association & on members day on September we get a special flypast or two of the whole flight. A wonderful spectacle not to be missed
