Thanks guys
The first photo is taken with Sigma 10-20 and the second with good old Canon 100-400.
I do have some photos of Fencer - there was some heat distortion when it was taxing but they are not so bad. I try to upload them in a few hours in Radom Airshow topic.

I agree. How tragic this accident was, for me these pilots are not heroes. I think they are "maniacs" and should not be flying at airshows. Only professional demo pilots are allowed to fly public demonstrations.Stefan wrote:I am not an expert, nor claim to be, but my hunch would be that if you only fly a very very limited number of hours per year you should act accordingly when displaying such a fine machine.Thermal wrote:Still wonder why these 'expert' pilots keep crashing these fine planes.

The last years, 4 Flanker crashed in Europe in amazing similar accidents. Half roll manouevre at low altitude !!
I witnessed two of these crashes and I think they should be banned from flying demonstrations at airshows.
They are not professionals and fly maybe 50 hours a year.
Look at the following 4 crashes at You Tube. Remember that to see a Flanker solo display at an Airshow is quite rare,
so these are four crashes at Airshows in the maybe 8 airshows they appeared............
I very much like the Flanker, but I hope they will be only invited for static display.

All,
Looking at the videos (you-tube) it seems like they purposely turn away from the public..... Leaving them less time to leave the plane, BUT by clearing the public they prevent any further loss of life....
If I see this correct they should be double heroes....
R.I.P.

Huh??? The crash at Lviv took 80 lives (all spectators), it flew directly into the public.topsafe wrote:Looking at the videos (you-tube) it seems like they purposely turn away from the public.....
Guess what, both pilots survived the crash as they ejected, heroes??
However the Su-27 is one of my favorite aircraft, for some reason it is not made for low level rolls.
I don't understand why the crew didn't eject in the last crash..............
Regards, Rob.

He's talking about the Radom crash. You could have figured that out....r.e.hendriks wrote: Huh??? The crash at Lviv took 80 lives (all spectators), it flew directly into the public.

Agree with you on the no ejection. Hard to understand.
Answers will be questioned.....
Re: Belarus Su-27 demo Radom August 28th, tribute to two heroes
Maybe position of the aircraft made ejection impossible:

Re: Belarus Su-27 demo Radom August 28th, tribute to two heroes
The K-36DM is designed to eject at any angle, even inverted (given enough altitude)
So the aircraft's attitude should have been no limiting factor in the Radom crash.
If you look at the other crashes, they eject in more extreme angles than the Radom Su-27 is in.

According to eyewitness they tried to avoid some house and then wing hit the ground.
