Hi Martijn,

Lovely shots, but your text makes me curious. 2Tb on photos in one year? How many photos did you shoot?? And do you keep each and every shot that you take on harddisk?

Benieuwde groet,
Iwan

Amazing... just amazing!!!

2TB of pictures during 2011 on a 5DII and /or 1DIV if I am right?
Question: how many pictures (approximately) did you take and how many real keepers (approximately) did you score?

Just curious...

Thanx Jeroen

Hi Martijn,
I am not really a fan of your style of photography, but I do like your last shot of the An-124. Very nice composition.

Looks allot like a CRJ(700/900) to me, just check the small intake on the base of the tail. I guess the winglets just fall out of the moon and are not visible.
For sure not, check the nose wheel.
Thank you guys for searching :D
This plane landed behind the BA 767 at 13 October 2011 at 1945.
In the day topic I found this message ;

So I guess the Learjet 45 is the right one, good work Marco :good:

Mid 2011 I found out checking and sorting all photos you shoot on a day takes to much valuable time ( hard-disks became cheap these days ). I started dumping all my photos at my hard-disks since and didn't regret :D After dumping I check for nice shots with faststone image viewer on one screen while at the same moment I rate the good shots at my secondary screen in DPP. Process those ( 20 / 30 a day ) to TIFF files ( 90MB each ! ) and open half of them in CS5.
Time is limited as always ( alarm set at 0415 every weekday  ), so most of the days I'm just happy to post 5 shots a day. Maybe LR3 will help in the future.
Btw; I 've got a huge backlog with photos. Did some nice shooting at CPH in September 2011 and those photos are still in the queue

I am really lost now, or I am getting too old. I thought photography was about quality and not quantity. Don't get me wrong. NustyR makes great shots, but it looks these days that you just just click away, let's say 30-50 shots on a take-off, and you just pick the best one. That's not what I call photography. But then again I am from the slide-age (=photo ice-age; these days most people don't even know what a slide is) and you could not afford this way of photographing in those days. :? :?
Well I will still do it the old way. Very boring, yes, but it suits me fine. And it saves a lot of time, which, as a family man, I do not have a lot...... But than again, everybody has to do it the way he/she likes it.'

@Aircolours: it also differs which kind of pictures you prefer. NustyR's shots contain challenging circumstances: very low shutter speeds, low light conditions, etc. This requires more attempts to get it right than a taxi shot in broad daylight.

Well, I was taking more in general. Sometime ago I was at the line-up at FRA where a guy was taking about 30-40 shots of a non-moving (!!) aircraft, and in take-off again the same amount. I was flabbergasted. I could not make any sense of it. And I see it happens a lot these days...
