I really like this topic but on the moment it seems everybody puts random images on to it. Arty-Farty is, in MY opinion, a photo from a very unusual angle or with some special light or with something extra on to it, like a helmet or something.
How nice it is, just a engine is just a engine. (again, this is how I think about it...)

I feel the exact same way ! It looks like many people are trying to copy NustyR's shots instead of being unique themselves. There seems to be a general feeling of "Let's make many Arty-Farty pics today".
And you're right, some contributions seems like your average "memory card dump"....
I hope this topic will regain some of its glamour soon.

Could be better if the reflection was more pure. Maybe it would be more interesting with a smaller DOF, either the reflection sharp or the engine sharp. Now the vehicles on the right side are also sharp and they distract a lot, not contributing to the picture.
