Tom,
Magnificant photos. Phantoms are great, but a CP-107 and A-3 really count. I remember the Argus flying over my house in Valkenburg, what a sight and sound! When I see a good photo, I truly wish I could go back to the seventies.

Hi Tom,
great stuff again...and finally something I saw on active duty, too: the Skywarrior. I visited IAT at Fairford in 91 (my first IAT) and it had one on static. I continued my journey by 'Interrail' to Rota and saw the same one coming in to land...followed by a second one an hour or so later. Still one of the highlights of my spotting 'career'.

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
Glad you like the photos. Whales were pretty unusual for me, and I was delighted to see them on rare occasions. I think the one in the photo above was waiting to be demilitarized before becoming part of the New England Air Museum. I never understood why the Air Force's B-66 had the unusual J-71 powerplant, which wasn't used in any other operational USAF aircraft, though it was used in the Navy. The A-3 had the J-57, which was common in USAF. I suspect it was politics.

CP-121 121169 during engine run-up at CFB Shearwater, NS., 22 August 1979. I believe at the time these aircraft were shared by VS-880 and VU-32.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for posting another picture of one of my all-time favourites (the Skywarrior) and nice to see one of 'our' F-27's when it still had the short nose.
