photo obtained from RNLAF/KLu fotodienst: Republic F-84F Thunderstreaks of Whiskey Four '67
Re: 1970s Mil Collection
A very sleek design, the Thunderstreak-especially without those huge external fuel tanks. Nice one, Rob.

If you're busy with scanning these anyway, would you mind sharing the A-7 that's parked next to it?Javindo50 wrote:Yes, please see the page #1 of this topic. But I will place another one:

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
Those are indeed wonderful B&W shots, Rob. Rich in grays, they have a very nice rendering of the clouds.
"Buck Danny"- probably most American enthusiasts like myself have no knowledge of this long-standing comic series. I just did a search to become educated-thanks to Wikipedia for the information.

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
Rob, good to see the Soesterberg 1976 show pics! When I think of that day, 2 things come to mind: Lots of rain and the impressive demo by Hans van der Werf. I would love to see a picture of that F-104 too if you don't mind.
cheers, Henk Schuitemaker.

Re: 1970s Mil Collection
Henk, I have to disappoint you regarding the F-104G demo: I only have a few pics of the D-6695. Unsharp while starting in the rain, and a bit sharper with dragchute after landing.
In those (student-)days I had a cheap camera (Zenith) with a Sigma 135mm + a 35mm lens which was satisfactory for me and my budget at that time, so during this rainy day it was difficult to get good pictures of take-offs and landings.
But I am now editing the slides from this day and show them soon in this very nice topic that Tom started.
