Re: 104's
Three stored AMI (R)F104G's from 3rd Stormo at Villafranca photographed back in 1993.
First one: MM6514/3-54. This one is a resident of the Museo Nicolis as "MM6827" in a blue c/s on top of their roof.
The museum has also a fine cameracollection.
Second one: MM6579 "La Strega" (The Witch). This aircraft still can be found at Villafranca as a gateguard.
Third one: MM6647/3-22. Today this plane is preserved in Rubiera.

Re: 104's
Sweet memories! My dad was line-chief of Volkel's 1st Fighter Wing in 1994 during Deny Flight and I shot many of those "FUR" wfu Starfighters when I visited Villafranca in May that year. Must scan some of those pictures one day...
Here as two more recent ones, shot at Grosseto in March 2004.

Re: 104's
Some older 104s.
A Volkel spotters afternoon with a short sunny spell, April 1983.
The only TF-104 that made a fullstop at Valkenburg (11 August 1986).
Italian F-104S at some kind of event at Volkel, 28 November 1991.

Re: 104's
Very nice shots, Henk, so crisp they could have been done yesterday with a digital body!
I hope you can endure mine, these were taken at Alconbury, 21 July 1985.

Re: 104's
Continuing with the Volkel Photocall theme, these three date back to the 25 April 1984 event. The last one I visited before the F-104 bowed out from Dutch service. 312 sq was the last to fly the one-o-four and had various jets zapped with comic characters, e.g. D-8051 being Snoopy.
D-8245 was "Dusty".
D-8258 was not apparantly zapped at the time.

Re: 104's
Another photocall: 51° Stormo on exchange at KeeBee, October 1997. This also happened to be the day I used my last Kodachrome 64 film. Looking back I wished I had changed to Provia much sooner, one of the advantages IMHO of Provia over K64 is that scans usually do not need a lot of post processing.

Not only that... also Spotting Group Volkel took care of some zappingHans Rolink wrote:Continuing with the Volkel Photocall theme, these three date back to the 25 April 1984 event. PS: Formally UFO flew the final Dutch 104s, not 312sq.
