In April both the J-144 and the J-879 were withdrawn from use, the latter being the last operational F-16 in the 800 series. A fleet of 41 operational F-16's remain.

The J-005 and J-512 went for maintenance to Woensdrecht.

The last operational F-16's with 322sq markings, J-509 and J-644, were seen with 312sq markings on Volkel ending a period of 'Frisian' markings while being part of 312sq. From the 31 remaining operational Volkel F-16's all have 312sq markings except for 3 who fly without markings.

It is my understanding the Air Force has determined that from a historical perspective J-063 must not be sold and must be preserved. Is this correct?

The Dutch detachment of the 148FS in Arizona flew its last missions on Friday 29 of July and it's 11 F-16's will be transferred to Draken International. They will be joined by two-seater J-368 which was withdrawn from use on July 18 at Volkel.

That leaves 30 operational F-16AM's with 312sq.

Monday August 15 was the last flight within the Royal Netherlands Air Force for F-16A J-509.

In the mean time it has been decided J-509 will get a few more hours. The last flight will be anywhere soon.
