Kuwait Airways KU-128 Amsterdam-Kuwait City (A320N reg 9K-AKS) ETD 14h40: when on the taxiway, another crew and Tower (Ground 18C/36C) observed smoke coming from engine nr 1. Tower queried by the crew, who told that there was a problem indeed and they were shutting down both engines. Crew asked for the fire brigade to come to them as a precaution.

Few minutes later, the crew told that their engine nr 1 had failed and they requested a pushback truck to go back to their stand (E4).
