Sunday afternoon the weather turned even worse at the Oceana Airshow and we decided to have a look at NAS Norfolk.
a nice suprice were the 2 C-9's present and which we were able to take pictures of from the top of a parkingarea.
also a C-40 was present...
next stop Langley AFB or ?? wait it's too early....

Next morning Langley AFB was our plan ,we just learned 2 days before we headed for the states that the Raptors were back in the air after being grounded since May and we hoped for a good score that day.
It was really early and we decided to have a look at ATC at Newport News Airport first and by suprice we caught two T-38's @ Ricks Aviation. Diverted on the Friday before and a really nice woman granted us acces on to the platform.

..... MCAS Cherry Point turned out to be a real dissapointment. This a very big base and also the surrounding doesn't give much photo oppertunitys.... with also the wrong runway in use and the weather being really awfull we decided after an hour to go for Seymour Johnson AFB instead.

one of the residents.....with still the weather not being in our favorit....
after a couple of hours the sun came looking around and some nice shots could be taken...
tommorow I will continue with the second day at Seymour Johnson AFB....

USAF F-15E Strike Eagle 88-1704/MO 366FW during take-off, returning with travelpods back to his homebase Mountain Home .
followed by fellow Mountaim Home resident....

Overshoot before landing....
shortly after landing.... some heathaze
also the AFRC has a detachment at Seymour Johnson with the 911ARS KC-135R's....
next stop was supposed to be Shaw AFB but due to the FY ending and no more flight hours, it would remain quiet at Shaw for the rest of the week and we went for McEntire to have the best day of the week !
