Well probably Embraer told them.

Few things come to mind, 2 instead or 4 engines, new design with less parts. Certainly compared to basically a 70 year old design.
And the aircraft is designed and build by anaircraft cooperation that build many commercial aircraft so they know how to keep the maintenance down for the commercial fleet.
