Kom er net vandaan. Inmiddels is het gat groot genoeg om een persoon doorheen te krijgen!

Hmm, dan wordt het tijd dat dat "alarmnummer" van SPL eindelijk eens gaat komen, tenzij de moderators onder ons dit intern kunnen doorspelen naar de Luchthaven. Dit gat moet veroorzaakt zijn door iemand die niet al te groot is om beter te kunnen kijken, aangezien het merendeel van de
spotters meestal wel iets van een trapje mee heft of zich ophoudt bij het hek iets verderop.

You'd better watch out United, before you know it yiu have to really work again ;-)

I know the meant hole, and to my knowledge this fence doesn't belong to the Airport-perimeter fence but is "just" a fence around some building from RWS.
If there really was such a big hole in the perimeter-fence al this time I would get very worried about the use of perimeter-rounds made a couple of times a day by different airport-employees. And of course the safety in general of the Airside-part from the Airport!

On a side note; expect new/stricter surveillance on "illegal" spotting at the end of the month on roadsides or other areas which aren't meant for that hobby. More info will follow later this month in the (local) media

Well, this was to be expected. I absolutely disapprove of cutting fences and trampling farmlands, but with the disappearance of our most popular spotting location, those interested will seek alternatives. All we, the spotters, can do is behave well, promote the creation of legal alternatives and encourage the authorities to team up with us, not scare us away.

Well, wait and see what the Aiport will do with their new securitymeasures.
Seems that we will lost some intresting spots around the aiport.

It is not; it is part of the total fence running along the A5 motorway; the RWS-building has a fence of its own that is linked to this main fence. It is NO imminent threat to aiside security however, as the fence from the Victor-taxiway makes airside-entry "impossible" on one side and the A5 motorway makes it impossible on the other side. However, the hole was spotted and reported by security several times as witnessed by myself; don't know why it has not yet been taken care of and it keeps getting bigger. I remember a group of people standing next to me (was on my stepladder); a girl was taking photographs through the hole and enlarging it. When I said something about it, her boyfriend replied "she HAS to enlarge it... she is not tall enough!" As often, it is a mentality-question. But it is precisely these kind of actions that will cause the airport to take action against the people that DON'T bother anyone or damage anything (99% of all local spotters, I daresay)... :evil:

Begin mij overigens dit allemaal weer lezende af te vragen, waarom het Heathrow-verhaal ( hesjes, pasjes, etc) hier nooit verder ontwikkeld is.
Het eerder gememoreerde telefoonnummer is wel een onderdeel daarvan, maar het duurt allemaal weer vrij lang eer het rond is.

Afgezien daarvan, het verschil tussen misgaan en een storing op airside is voor ons spotters wel te zien. Vrees echter dat de dagjesmensen in dat geval direct gaan bellen en het hele circus voor niets in actie gaat komen met alle kosten vandien.

I agree with you; however, this has been tried several times in the past by the volunteers of the now defunct Schiphol Aviation Group: we offered the airport to be their "klankbord" (sounding board?) on these matters but the airport (then) had little interest and appears not to have changed much, as they go about their business regardless of opinions on this forum or without contacting people who could give an expert opinion (from the spotter's point of view). It has been said before: one of the main reasons for us to stop with SAG was precisely the lack of interest on the part of the airport to REALLY communicate with the local spotting community on these topics. I DO however remember they did invite us to promote "Spotting around Schiphol" as a hobby on one of their last Open Days (2006 or so)...

I would be happy to share my views with AAS (and other spotters probably would, too) if only the airport would be willing to listen...

I had a look at it yesterday, but the fence belongs to Rijkswaterstaat. So AAS has (in this case) nothing to do with it. Period.

Weet iemand toevallig wat de dichtstbijzijnde bushalte is bij de kop van de Polderbaan? Volgens Google Maps blijkt bushalte Seevank of Piersonstraat (lijn 179 en 680) het dichtste bij te zijn. Of zijn er nog andere die dichterbij zijn? En hoe lang is het lopen van de bushalte naar de kop van de baan (oftewel naar het fietspad langs de baan aan de noordkant)?

How is it with the spotting point next AG cargo, next to taxiway Pelikaanweg? I was there couple of days ago and in not more then 5 min KMAR was there ELAL want me to leave :S:S:S:S. Nothing of ELAL is showing with all the ULD's there :D:D:D.

Today on TV Nostalgie TV was a 30 min docu about SPL when it moved from East to Centre. There was a gate B32, when you can walk all to the end of the Terminal. I remember the couple of Greenpeace wankers climb on a KLM plane and since then panorama deck is also smaller.

in my spotting time @ EHVK 14 years a go that crazy man Kees Koning was sometimes coming to Volkel, you have to see the durt that was trow ad them lol (maybe a tip)
